In just four weeks, you’ll learn how to plan, program, and practice reliable communication methods using practical tools, simple techniques, and real-world exercises.  You’ll also discover how to choose the right radios, communicate effectively across different ranges, and build a personalized P.A.C.E. Plan to keep you connected in everyday life and in emergencies.

📆 Course Outline

Week 1: Introduction to Radio Communication (December 2, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST)

Learn what radio communication really is—getting the right information to the right person at the right time. Set personal or team communication goals, explore no-license radio services (FRS, MURS, CB), and build your first P.A.C.E. Plan.

Week 2: Channels, Tones, Repeaters & Nets (December 9, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST)

Discover how repeaters extend your range and how privacy tones actually work. Practice finding and listening to local nets while learning how channels and offsets make communication more effective.

Week 3: Radio Programming & Finding Other Operators (December 16, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST)

Take your skills to the next level by learning to program your radios—both manually and with software like CHIRP. Find local operators and clubs to expand your comms network and start engaging with your radio community.

Week 4: Power, Digital Tools & Continuing Your Journey (December 23, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST)

Learn how to power your equipment, explore digital modes like APRS, JS8Call, and Winlink, and discover ways to integrate radios into your lifestyle. Wrap up by refining your P.A.C.E. Plan and creating a path to continue your radio journey.
